Youth sportsLEADERSHIP and mentorPROGRAMLife Enhancement through Athletic and Academic Participation (LEAP)The mission of the Top Gun LEAP program is to help at-risk children and adolescents to succeed in school and life. The "hook" of the Top Gun LEAP program is participation in interactive and non-traditional education, mentoring, leadership, character building, and college bound program. Through organized sports and academics Top Gun uses sport participation as a catalyst to help youth learn more effective life skills and coping techniques. The Top Gun LEAP program empowers youth to make successful choices in life within the Middle and High School setting, the emphasis for the student athlete is not on winning but on having successful individual and team experiences while developing character and team building. Top Gun’s Junior Leaders Youth Challenge Program (JLYCP)The Youth Junior Leaders Challenge Program works with youth at the Douglas County Boys & Girls Club, City and County Parks and Recreation, North side Community Initiatives Program, and Douglasville Youth Against Violence Program. The core philosophy of the Youth Challenge Program is to help juvenile offenders focus on their future. Through an interactive classroom environment, the Junior Leaders Youth Challenge Program provides our youth with an opportunity to build social relationships, equipping youth with the right tools for the future, designing a more appropriate attitude, thinking for a change, and building tomorrow’s leader by guiding them through today’s challenge.
